Twilight Tuesdays at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden

By

I’m already noticing the sun setting earlier these days, so I’m eager to soak in as many evenings outside as possible, before it gets too chilly and dark to enjoy gardens, yards, and other summer delights. For two more weeks (through August 27), the Brooklyn Botanic Garden stays open until 8:30pm on Tuesdays. During Twilight Tuesdays, you can buy beer, wine, and cocktails, and walk around with your beverage (just not with food). Get there early, by 6pm, for a free tour that will highlight summer blooms. Tickets for adults are $15.

(While you’re thinking about the BBG, check out their Fight for Sunlight campaign, and sign their petition if it speaks to you. A building with towers that would block sunlight to significant parts of the grounds has been proposed nearby. The BBG, and many of their neighbors, are hoping that the rezoning necessary for the development to proceed won’t be approved.)
