I can’t think of a better way to honor New York on the week of the 9/11 anniversary than to eat insane amounts of pizza, our city’s defining dish. The Dumbo Improvement District and Sixpoint Brewery are teaming up on Friday night to bring a new tradition, the first annual Dumbo Pizza Party, to the Archway under the Manhattan Bridge. From 5-10pm, you can feast on $2 slices from Front Street, Ignazio’s, and Groundling Pizza, and try a DumboWeisse, which is Sixpoint’s custom Dumbo-themed beer. Balloon animals and face painting will be available to kids and adults, as will a dance party led by Brooklyn’s own DJ Reverend Vince Anderson. Top off the evening with a $2 scoop of ice cream from Ample Hills, OddFellows, Melt, or Shake Shack, and you’ve got yourself a pretty great start to the weekend.
