Talks, workshops and a celebration of The New School at The Festival of New

By

Maybe this time of year gets you excited for the smell of freshly sharpened pencils and new three-ring binders even if you’re not headed back to school. Now’s your chance to soak in that energy at The New School, as it kicks off its 100th anniversary at The Festival of New. Creators, writers, activists, you name it are coming together for a week of celebratory lectures and activities. And follow along with the hashtag #100YearsNew for event highlights. Events run through Sunday but head to some kickoff day happenings this Tuesday. Some recommendations? Zine making with materials from The New School Archives and Samhita Mukhopadhyay, Executive Editor of Teen Vogue, in conversation with Tarana Burke, founder of the “Me Too” Movement. The festival is free, but it’s encouraged you RSVP to specific events to guarantee entry.
