Indigenous Peoples Celebration on Randall’s Island

If you work for one of the few companies in NYC that still gives its employees Columbus Day off, Randall’s Island is once again hosting it annual Indigenous Peoples Celebration, a 24-hour long event featuring music, dance, food, ceremony, and more from the indigenous cultures that were nearly obliterated when the United States was “discovered” by European explorers centuries ago. On Monday, the programming runs from 7am-2pm, and is free to attend, although you’re encouraged to register here
