Williamsburg tavern Thompson Brooke has a great twist on the typical book reading called Pour Writers. Authors go behind the bar and serve drinks to fellow writers and readers, and occasionally read from and sign their new work. The space is intimate so you’ll rub elbows with fans and have the privilege of having a drink with your favorite author. On Wednesday, October 23, Daniel Handler, the author of seven novels, including most recently, Bottle Grove, and the creator of Lemony Snicket from his popular children’s books, A Series of Unfortunate Events, will be guest bartending from 8 to 10pm. Be sure to save the date for another edition November 5 when Brooklyn Based friend Jon Roemer will be pouring.
