Head to the Verso Books loft in Dumbo on Tuesday, November 5 at 7pm for the launch of Grace Blakeley’s Stolen: How to Save the World from Financialisation. Blakeley’s book explains why the recovery from the 2007-2008 economic crash mostly benefited those in the 1%, details the flaws of financial capitalism, and explores how we might embrace democratic socialism to escape economic and environmental disaster. Bhaskar Sunkara, founder of Jacobin and author of The Socialist Manifesto will join Blakely in conversation. The event is free, and beer and wine will be available by donation.
