Oasa Duverney, Black Power Wave, 2019

On Wednesday, December 4, two shows open at BRIC: Oasa Duverney’s Black Power Wave and Present Bodies: Papermaking at Dieu Donné. The former features large-scale drawings of a graphite wave, and the latter presents work in handmade paper by eight artists. Both opening receptions are from 7-9pm and are free and open to the public.

If you have the budget for it, and are more interested in making your own art—to display in your home, or maybe to give as a gift this holiday season—check out Distill Creative’s felting tapestry workshop. The workshop is from 6:30-9:30pm in Dumbo and costs $180. Check out instructor Maria Lucia Londoño’s brand Ata Felting Design on Instagram to get a sense of what you can learn how to make!
