Sunday in Brooklyn: The old brunch or cocktail conundrum

By

I’ve got a happy dilemma on Sunday—do I enjoy a delicious Italian brunch with a group of fun new people or learn how to make some signature holiday cocktails with a group of fun new people? I certainly couldn’t go wrong by booking a seat at this month’s edition of The Brooklyn Brunch Club, which features old school Italian treats like eggplant parm, carbonara, and bellinis at The Great Room on Columbia Street. This club seems remarkably well-organized and offers live musical entertainment and even optional on-site child care. Tickets are $45 each, brunch starts at the entirely reasonable hour of 2pm, and it seems like a really great way to make some new friends. Meanwhile, at exactly the same time, Parklife is hosting a holiday-focused cocktail class where you can learn everything you need to know about bitters, bourbon, and mulled wine in a hands-on, interactive format. Your $50 ticket includes instruction, a bottle of homemade bitters to take home, and snacks from Parklife’s pastry chef.
