Yoga for the Little People

Bija Kids, which offers kids yoga classes in studios around Brooklyn, now has a permanent home in Clinton Hill. Its new 2,500-square-foot space will also host kids classes, camps, and onsite childcare for adult yoga. At the launch party this Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm at 900 Fulton St., you and your kids can check out and enjoy children’s yoga, a concert with Michael of Preschool of Rock, chair massages, food by Ted and Honey + Victory Garden, an art workshop with Create Art, a French class with Brooklyn Beanstalk and Kirtan (chanting) with Nina and Devadas. Plus if you sign up on the spot for one of their classes, summer camp or birthday parties, you’ll get 10% off. The opening will no doubt be welcomed by families in the hood, where kiddie activities are few and far between. Though that is changing–Sacred Brooklyn on Clifton Pl. now offers kids yoga and dance. (We had fun this morning at the Mommy and Me Nia Dance, but call in advance to confirm the schedule: 347-715-4112.) Still Hip recently expanded its playspace and class offerings, and the Clinton Hill Library will soon be offering toddler time (11:15-12:15) every Friday, beginning in May.
