Brilliant Ideas in Brooklyn

At this point, it’s likely that if you haven’t attended a TEDx event, you’ve probably seen videos of the talks online. Based on the annual conferences dedicated to “ideas worth spreading,” the independently organized events bring the best and brightest together to solve problems and get everyone thinking (full disclosure: one of our bosses gave a TEDx talk earlier this year.) This Friday’s TEDxBrooklyn at Brooklyn Bowl includes speakers like Paul Steely White, the executive director of Transportation Alternatives; Jen Louise Lyon, the founder of Mean Red; and Jack Walsh, the executive producer of Celebrate Brooklyn. The event has already sold out, but don’t get too down about it – you can livestream the event on their website, or, for that communal smarty feeling, head to the Knitting Factory, 61 Local, or Brooklyn Brainery to watch with a crowd.
