This Saturday, powerHouse Arena holds their Sandy Hates Books Hurricane Relief Fundraiser all day with something for everyone, including kids’ readings/signings, poet Leigh Stein slinging drinks (post 6pm) behind the bar, and readings from true literary heavyweights like Paul Auster, Jonathan Franzen, and Jennifer Egan staggered throughout. Seriously—even if it wasn’t for the important and necessary cause of rectifying the damage done to powerHouse in the wake of the storm, it’s clearly a once-in-a-lifetime kind of deal. And the fact that you’re helping a great cause is just the icing on the cake!
