Stand Up Heads Up

Almost every week, we see an amazing comedy event that we are so excited to tell you guys about, and then we are gutted when we inevitably discover that tickets are gone before we even had a chance to put it in the Tip Sheet. This week, we’re getting ahead of the game and giving you a fighting chance to get in on two sure-to-be-great shows at the Bell House that won’t happen until this spring but are likely to sell out soon. On March 19, actor/writer/musician/Daily Show contributor Demetri Martin will be stopping through with his trademark deadpan one-liners and drawings for a leg of his Point Your Face at This tour. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am, so throw an alert in your Google calendar now. Next up, on April 27, Jen Kirkman will be at the Bell House promoting her new book, I Can Barely Take Care of Myself: Tales from a Happy Life Without Kids. Jen is known for her stand up, but also as a regular on Chelsea Lately, the narrator in the Drunk History series on Funny or Die, and a frequent guest on The Pod F. Tompkast. Tickets are $15 and are available here. Both Martin and Kirkman are L.A.-based, along with practically every other comedian these days (note: can we please put an end to this disturbing trend in 2013?!), so there’s no guarantee that they’ll be back on the East Coast anytime soon. Give yourself something to look forward to and buy a ticket now.
