Vampires in Fort Greene

By

Karen Russell’s debut novel Swamplandia! was what we’d call a Big Deal; the tale of a young girl and her family of alligator wrestlers struck chords throughout the literary world. Plus, it certainly didn’t hurt that at her readings, Russell showed herself to be sweet, funny, and super-endearing. Catch some of that charm for yourself at Greenlight, where she’ll be reading from her second book of short stories, Vampires in the Lemon Grove (her first, St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, included the story that provided the seed for Swamplandia! and was nearly as critically acclaimed.) Recent events for boldfaced authors at Greenlight have been absolutely packed, so get there early, expect to get squished, and enjoy being one of the first people in New York to see Russell read from her latest.
