Nerds have come a long way since the days when Lewis and Gilbert were getting pummeled by Booger, and Urkel was constantly wondering, “Did I do that?” And while it may not be hip to be square, it’s definitely hip to be smart, so put on your spectacles and pocket protecters for the first-ever Nerd Nite Festival this weekend at the Brooklyn Lyceum. Drink free beer and cheap wine while you check out Drunk Science, hosted by the producers of Radiolab and Popular Science‘s Jake Ward. Or maybe you’ll want to check out the history of Godzilla, the inner workings of alien minds, or what went on inside the head of that squid before it became calamari. If these are the types of things that concern you, $100 for the whole weekend will get you the answers; individual day passes are available for $30 (Friday), $65 (Saturday) and $50 (Sunday). Secure your tickets and suspenders before it sells out.
