Most of us prefer to leave our awkward phases far in the past, buried somewhere deep down with our collection of old retainers, middle-school photos and stash of notes folded like paper footballs, which if ever brought to light, would lead to a mortal recoiling of our egos. There are, however, a few brave souls among us willing to mine their adolescent artifacts for comedic fodder and invite an audience to share in the schadenfreude. Head to Littlefield on Feb. 11 for Mortified, a showcase of people ready to exhume the most cringe-inducing relics from their teenage years–like letters, poems, diary entries and home videos–for the entertainment of total strangers. Hearing adults telling stories of their most embarrassing moments growing up, be it band camp encounters, first bong hits or high-school prom, is bound to be hilarious, so buy a ticket and be in Gowanus by 7pm.
