Reading is an independent activity but it doesn’t have to be an isolated one. Silent Reading Party NYC, a new monthly meet-up that’s been roving around Brooklyn bars since it started two months ago, takes an egalitarian approach to its literary readings. Rather than inviting one author to share works with an audience, everyone is invited to hang out together, have a drink and enjoy whatever book they happen to be reading at the moment. This month’s silent-reading session is happening on Wednesday night at Soda Bar on Vanderbilt Ave. Fun starts at 7pm and lasts until 10. Might be a good time to polish off your winter reading list if you haven’t already.
