Art and Action on the Gowanus and a tribute to Fleetwood Mac

By

The Gowanus Canal cleanup is a huge project that isn’t going to be finished anytime soon, but you can help raise money and awareness to fix the Superfund site—and have a fun afternoon doing it—at the Gowanus Visions Festival of Art and Action this Saturday at Sponge Park. From 1-6:30pm, there will be dance performances, an oyster workshop with the Gowanus Dredgers Club, canoeing, model house boat building classes, a walking tour, and a DJ dance party. If you still have energy after all that, Fleetmac Wood, a remix project and party inspired by the exquisite Fleetwood Mac, is bringing a high-energy gold dust disco to Industry City. Tickets are $25 if you buy them in advance, and the dance party starts at 8:30.
