Prefer the darker side of Jim Henson? Head to Prospect Heights’ nerd bar extraordinaire, The Way Station, this Sunday night for a double feature that delves into Henson’s odder films. The free screening starts at 5pm with the Gelflings of 1982’s The Dark Crystal. Labyrinth starring David Bowie’s spandex-clad crotch, follows after. The screening will be hosted by Brooklyn burlesque heroes Doc Wasabassco and Nasty Canasta; there will also be a raffle for books, drinks, tix to Wasabassco’s burlesque shows, and more. All proceeds will go toward sending a local tattoo artist and burlesque dancer to a master class with Brian Froud, a faerie artist whose work can be seen in both films.
