Talks, concerts and opera to tune into at home

The arts and culture scene in NYC is no small part of what makes it a special place, and many of the city’s cultural institutions are making (or have long made) their offerings available online. For the dose of culture you need to still feel like a true New Yorker, check out the following:

The Metropolitan Opera’s nightly streaming of a past production. The schedule is up through Sunday, March 29, and a full week of Wagner kicks off with Tristan und Isolde on Monday, March 23.

The 92nd Street Y has archives of talks, performances, and concerts as both videos and audio recordings, along with live stream offerings. On Thursday, March 26, they’ll live stream a performance of Beethoven’s last three piano sonatas by Jonathan Biss.

Brooklyn Historical Society has an amazing archive of their talks and events on Youtube, or on Soundcloud, if you’d rather listen than watch.
