Just Like Mom Used To Make–Park Luncheonette

The Bloody Mary does not have a monopoly on the hair of the dog–on a cold, winter morning after, you might want a warmer, cozier alternative. The Park Luncheonette gave us an easy recipe to spice up your morning coffee any old day of the week. (Wray and Nephew is a favorite brand of rum cream, which you can find online or at some specialty cocktail stores in NYC. You can also do without it.)

1 oz. white rum
6 oz. coffee
1/2 oz. rum cream
Whipped cream
Dash of nutmeg
Pour ingredients in a coffee mug in the order they are listed, stir well and top with whipped cream and nutmeg.

And, if you want to pretend that this is the white Christmas we didn’t get back in balmy December (this was not a historic blizzard by any stretch of the imagination, but there is quite a lot of snow out there), check out this recipe for The Ugly Sweater, a festive rye-rum-gingerbread spiced drink from Huckleberry Bar.
