Though bike lanes have been the center of an awful lot of controversy lately, it’s really impossible to deny the allure of a summertime bike ride to the beach. Next weekend, the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative is holding its 3rd Annual Brooklyn Waterfront Epic Ride. The forty-mile ride covers the length of what could one day be the completed Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway and Jamaica Bay Greenway, starting with an 8:30am check-in in Greenpoint and heading out to the Rockaway Beach food vendors. Book your tickets now — the cost is $10 for members of the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, Transportation Alternatives, or the Five Borough Bicycle Club, or $20 for non-members.
