The Irish are Coming! To a Theater Near You!

By

From the 2011 incarnation of the annual 1st Irish Festival that ended last month, to the acclaimed production of Penelope last year, it seems the recent NYC theatrical works that best plumb the depths of the human mind and soul are either written, directed, or starring Irish talent. In that vein, Misterman, which makes its stateside debut this month at St. Ann’s Warehouse for a three-week run, scores the hat-trick–it’s both written and directed by the ingenious Enda Walsh, and is performed (in his American theatrical debut) by the chameleonic Cillian Murphy.  Tickets start at $45 and if you’re lucky enough to get some for opening night, stick around: Walsh and Murphy are scheduled for a ‘talk back’ with the audience after the show.
