This Wednesday, diners at Madiba restuarant are in for a rare experience, as the Fort Greene favorite is hosting Where the Wild Things Are, a four-course dinner paired with wines from Rustenberg Wines, one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa. The menu consists of authentic South African fare–courses include a seafood soup paired with sauvignon blanc, an ostrich carpaccio, grilled Atlantic calamari in a white wine reduction and salad paired with chardonnay, oxtail stew with Umngqhushu Stambu (a traditional South African corn and beans dish), vegetarian bobotie (a baked casserole and South Africa’s national dish) paired with a Bordeaux blend, and for dessert, pumpkin fritters and ice cream with a straw wine cocktail. Accompanying the dinner will be live music from Zimbabwean musician Max Wild, and the $40 tickets include your meal, full wine parings and tip. Tickets are still available here but hurry.
