Nothing provides a better soundtrack for beers on a balmy summer night than reggae, so if you are sticking around on Friday you’d be crazy to miss Steel Pulse at the bandshell in Prospect Park. The legendary UK reggae band, which has been performing for over 30 years, graces Celebrate Brooklyn!’s stellar 2011 lineup with a free show starting at 7:30pm. As an added bonus, don’t forget that Celebrate Brooklyn! has commissioned The Farm on Adderley, the much-acclaimed Ditmas Park eatery, and the {NewNew}, a local craft collective, to sell food and merchandise at the concerts. So start the long weekend on a high note, and remember to pour out a little brew for your friends stuck in standstill traffic on the L.I.E.
