Back in the USSR, you don’t know how lucky you are! Cinebeasts presents Rock In The USSR, a double feature at Spectacle, South Williamsburg’s coolest theater for seeing rare and unusual movies. For $5 watch two movies that explore the influence of Western rock ‘n’ roll on film and life in the Eastern Bloc. The two films are “Four White Shirts,” completed in 1967 but banned until 1986 and “ Sideburns,” finished in 1990 and still yet to be released in Russia. They explore themes like youth culture, literature, hooliganism, teen angst and generational conflict. Cheap Russian beer and Latvian cocktails along with a “Four White Shirts” soundtrack giveaway make it a night not to be missed.
