Bushwick’s First Ice Cream Parlour

By

It’s not just Roberta’s anymore. Bushwick is home to one of the city’s finest doughnut shops, we’re completely smitten with Tradesman, the new bar on Bushwick Avenue, the noodles and broth at Shinobi ramen are some of the best in Brooklyn, and now the neighborhood can expect an ice cream shop this summer.

Francisco Garcia, a Brooklyn native and Vanderbilt University graduate, just launched a Kickstarter campaign for The Evergreen Ice Cream Company. He says they’ll serve top-notch ice cream and house-made paletas–Dominican style popsicles made from fresh juices.

Garcia’s parents own the space he’s developing at Jefferson and Evergreen, which the Evergreen’s Facebook page describes as a “beautiful cabin/barn-like shed” with outdoor seating.

We’re looking forward to our first scoop on a hot summer day.
