This weekend, April 28 and 29, the second annual New Amsterdam Bicycle Show returns to Soho to get Bike Month NYC off to a rolling start, and we’re pleased to offer our readers 10 percent off tickets to the gigantic bicycle fest.

Returning vendor, Playdate Bicycles, was a hit at the 2011 New Amsterdam Bicycle Fashion Show.

This year’s show will be even bigger, better and bikier than last year’s inaugural celebration of two-wheeled, person-powered fun, and will feature more than 70 bicycle exhibitors from around the world–and the five boroughs–as well as a huge fashion show, and an outdoor beer garden sponsored by Grolsch Lager complete with a line-up of New York’s best DJs. Oh, and don’t forget the snacks. Vandaag, the Dutch and Danish-inspired eatery in the East Village known for their hay-smoked confections, will be serving up Low Country treats, alongside coffee from Brooklyn Roasting Company.

To add to the fun, there are tons of raffle prizes to win, including helmets, bicycles, sweet accessories and a grand prize of two round-trip tickets to Amsterdam, Holland, the bicycling capital of the world, from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

Bikelandia, a series of talks, readings, and panel discussions, returns this year, and features an especially intelligent and handsome roster of bike-related personalities. Speakers include Bike SnobNYC, Ben Fried from Streetsblog, Clarence Eckerson, Jr. from Streetfilms, and The Guardian’s Matt Seaton, who will be discussing his recent Bicycling Magazine feature on bike lanes. Doug Gordon of Brooklyn Spoke will speak with NYC DOT Policy Director Jon Orcutt, one of the driving forces behind the city’s bike share plan. And, there will be a panel on the state of the racing circuit in NYC moderated by Kevn “Squid” Bolger and featuring JD Eustice, Anne-Marie Miller and racer David Volach of Bicycle Habitat.

The New Amsterdam Bicycle Show runs from 10am to 7pm Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29; Skylight Soho, 250 Hudson Street (at Dominick). Tickets are $15 in advance here>>, 10 percent off with the discount code NABKLB (case sensitive) through Friday at midnight. Tickets cost $20 at the door.
