Reading Treats at Pete’s

By

Pete’s Candy Store’s Reading Series is kind of a big deal in literary circles. For the past 10 years or so, Pete’s has played host to some of the best and brightest writerly minds in New York, from poets to memoirists to humorists. This Thursday is the penultimate event of their spring season and feature short story writer and novelist Jim Shephard (whose You Think That’s Bad is the ultimate escapist reading for your commute) and Catherine Chung (whose novel Forgotten Country is getting raves from everyone from The Rumpus to Oprah). The icing on the proverbial cake? Pete’s new spring menu, featuring delightful new cocktails, including a gin-and-cucumber number.
