Jazz Vision

By

The 17th annual Vision Festival, a multi-arts celebration informed by the aesthetic of avant-jazz and improvisation, began Monday at Roulette and features an amazing lineup of all-star performances through the weekend by greats like Sonny Simmons, Kneebody, Hamid Drake, Matthew Shipp, and many, many more. This year, the festival honors free jazz pioneer and master trumpeter and saxophonist Joe McPhee, who will perform alongside an outstanding group of musicians, poets, dancers and other artists who have been inspired by his life’s work. Whether you’re an established jazz fan or a newbie looking for a top-notch introduction, Roulette is where it’s at this week. Tickets are $30 per day and are available here.
