Brooklyn is a breeding ground for cool new businesses and start-ups, and tonight at DeKalb Market (another hotbed of indie food and retail vendors), Smallknot and Brooklyn Based are presenting a story slam with the brains behind some of the borough’s most interesting businesses. It will be a funny, inspiring evening, as Max Silvestri emcees and biz folk like Tom Mylan of the Meat Hook, Daniel Stedman of The L Magazine, and Kimberly Sevilla of Rose Red and Lavender swap tales of “Lessons Learned the Hard Way.” Come at 6pm for $2 off beers and 10% off select shops and food; the storytelling begins at 7pm.
