For the second year in a row, the restaurants of Sheepshead Bay are teaming up for a special event celebrating the diverse and delicious food that the southern Brooklyn neighborhood has to offer. A Taste of Sheepshead Bay, which returns to Baron DeKalb Knights of Columbus on Thursday at 7pm, offers samplings of 50 different dishes prepared by 20 popular eateries like Il Fornetto (which is sponsoring the evening along with local blog Sheepshead Bites), Arbuz, Jimmy’s Famous Heros, and Bassett Caterers. This year, newcomers include Anatolian Gyro, Sushi Mikasa, and Chayhana Salom, a new Uzbeki restaurant that will be celebrating its grand opening this week. Capacity is strictly limited to 250 and tickets are $25 apiece if you buy them online and $35 at the door. Just FYI, over 350 people showed up last year so it probably isn’t wise to delay.
