Ring in the Recovery at The Bell House

The Bell House, a superb venue that’s not only put on consistently great shows of all kinds but has survived a few Sandy-related traumas of its own, is hosting two of the most-mind blowing events happening anywhere in the entire city this week—and the fact that they’re both benefits to aid in the Superstorm recovery makes their awesomeness reach heights of flat-out incredibility. To start the week off is a Jalopy Theater-produced Musical Extravaganza to ReStore Red Hook! (You can also support ReStore Red Hook at The Kitchen is Flooded, our culinary storytelling event at Brooklyn Brewery on Tuesday, Nov. 27.) With local acts like Alex Battles mixed in with headliners like the blisteringly smart/funny Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead, and freaking legend begotten of legends, Roseanne Cash, the $30 admission is not yet sold-out. On Sunday, the best possible end to any weekend is just waiting for you to join in when Eugene Mirman, Wyatt Cenac, Mike Birbiglia, and even more of today’s best comedians join together for an especially dedicated “F*ck You, Sandy” edition of Pretty Good Friends. 100% of the $30 ticket is being donated to the Brooklyn Recovery Fund, so all those big names taking part are doing it because they want to—all you have to do to help is kick back and laugh, probably uncontrollably.
