If you are in the market for an affordable bike, and too afraid to buy a used one on Craigslist for fear it was stolen, the annual Brooklyn Bike Jumble from 10am to 4pm at The Old Stone House is your best best for a serious selection of bargains, plus new and used bike accessories. The selection ranges from $50 ‘beater’ bikes that can handle being locked up outside all day (and night) to collectible bikes with heftier price tags. The Brooklyn Public Library’s “Bike the Branches” benefit ride is also on Saturday–if you’re adventurous, you can circuit all 60 branches on two wheels to support the library.
