Brownsville Gets its First Bike Lane

Community groups in Brownsville have been advocating for a bike lane in their neighborhood for two years. Now it’s finally up and running, thanks in large part to Bettie Kollock-Wallace, the chair of the local community board and an all-around dynamo. She’s the lady in the neon yellow and the bike gear in the video–she is 76 years old and obviously outpacing people half her age at pretty much everything.

Now let’s get Brownsville some CitiBikes to ride.
