Steve Reynolds, of Party Like It’s 1999 dance party fame, is reason enough to spend your night dancing in an improbable place. But The Brooklyn Get Down this Saturday at CrossFit South Brooklyn combines infectious music with NY Distilling Co. cocktails, Brooklyn brews, food, raffles, and a very good cause: Brooklyn Now. This group of  impassioned Brooklynites are the younger volunteers of Brooklyn Community Foundation, who want to gain deeper insight into the Foundation’s work, learn more about the issues facing Brooklyn, and inspire others to get involved in local giving and service–like making Red Hook, Fort Greene and Brownsville healthier for its residents, an initiative they’re currently working on. This is their first fundraiser, which will help fund the Foundation’s grantmaking programs, and tickets start at $35. Attire is gym chic, perfect for an affordable gala.
