Films from Magnasanti

Union Docs is one of our favorite cultural institutions in Brooklyn because they’re so deeply invested in all manner of storytelling, and they’re always working with surprising new artists who are making movies–and podcasts, and all kinds of art–in unexpected ways. On Thursday they’ll screen a series of short films depicting life in New York City, by John Wilson, a Brooklyn-based filmmaker with a very particular vision of the city. The films are all inspired by Magnasanti, a Sim City construction engineered to creative a maximally efficient design filled with virtual economic slaves. Wilson will be on hand after the screening for questions. Screening at 7:30, free for Union Docs members, $10 for everyone else.
