Celebrate coffee in all its glory, and help the people of Puerto Rico

By

There isn’t a much better way to start a weekend than a cup of superlative coffee, and that’s what you’ll find–and more–at the NYC Craft Coffee Fest happening at Villain this Saturday morning starting at 9am. More than twenty speciality java purveyors will be on hand to caffeinate you, and there will also be snacks and live entertainment, too. Tickets to either the morning of afternoon session start at $35. Afterwards, wend your way over to Valentino Pier for this year’s Red Hook Regatta, an annual race of homemade miniature vessels in Buttermilk Channel sponsored by Pioneer Works. Finally, Bridge & Tunnel Brewery is hosting a fundraiser for the people of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria’s devastation from 2-7pm. A portion of the bar tab and food purchased from The Spice Shanty will be donated to ConPRMetidos, a nonprofit that is providing on-the-ground assistance in affected areas. There will also be drop-off bins for necessities like diapers, batteries, and first aid supplies for those who need our help.
