Skip brunch on Saturday and get prepared to eat a lot of meat at the annual Big Apple BBQ Block Party taking place from 11am-6pm both days this weekend at Madison Square Park. The event is free to attend, and includes live music from acts like The Felice Brothers, as well as drinks and massive quantities of brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, hot dogs, sausages, and everything else you’d be inclined to smoke, grill, or slow-cook available for purchase. Local bbq royalty like Hometown and Dinosaur will be slinging Southern-style fare all day, but there were also be a slew of guests visiting from all over the country on hand, like Atlanta’s Fox Brothers Bar-B-Q, which I was totally wowed by when ate there last fall.
