A Chinese New Year feast with house party vibes at Loosie’s Kitchen

By

Loosie’s Kitchen, a petite, plant-filled addition to South Williamsburg social club/cocktail lounge Loosie Rouge, is hosting a Chinese New Year feast on Tuesday that will honor the childhood traditions of its Executive Chef, Henry Lu, and celebrate the Year of the Pig (which, if we are to believe thechineseazodiac.org, will bring success for all of us). Raised in the Bronx in a family of Chinese restaurant owners, Lu’s “We Are All Pigs” Chinese New Year Party menu draws from the classics and adds his own healthy, fun twists. The buffet-style dinner includes fried spring rolls; build-your-own steamed buns with char siu, tofu and veg; steamed fish in ginger, galangal, and lemongrass water; and the pièce de résistance, a pork belly-stuffed suckling pig with dipping sauces. Tickets are $30/person (beverages, like $5 Tsingtao, not included) and the dinner is from 7:30-10:30pm. RSVP via email: sayhi@loosieskitchen.com or through Eventbrite.
