Unless you’re an outdoorsy type, you might not be aware that each year there’s a festival that encourages city folk to get out and explore the urban wilds of New York and the Hudson Valley. The premiere event of the 10-day OutdoorFest is a campout in Staten Island’s Henry Kaufman campgrounds, but if you want to try something just as crazy, how about the Stand Up Paddleboarding session Tuesday night in the Hudson River, right next to the Intrepid. If you’re brave enough to don a suit and enter the water (where you’ll be far more exposed than a kayak) you’ll be rewarded with bragging rights and a spectacular sunset. Tickets are $25 for the 7-8pm session, available here.
