A birthday tribute to Toni Morrison

By

There’s no denying that we lost one of the literary greats this past year. And while there’s probably no better way to celebrate Toni Morrison than to continually read her books, essays, and cultural criticism, sometimes it’s fun to celebrate among other humans.

The Center for Fiction is hosting a screening of The Pieces I Am. You can view the trailer of this award-winning documentary here. After the screening, there will be a discussion of Morrison’s literary impact between the director Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and writer Rachel Eliza Griffiths. Tickets are $10 and the Tuesday evening event begins at 6:30pm. Located in Downtown Brooklyn, The Center for Fiction is a unique institution fusing bookstore, cafe, and event space, culminating in an explosion of literary activities and workshops.
