The Warriors at Coney Island

By

This weekend, the Coney Island Film Festival returns with a jam-packed schedule of 106 films spread out over three days and two venues, Sideshows By the Seashore and the Coney Island Museum. There’s a Friday night opening party featuring a freak show, burlesque, an open bar with Coney Island Brewery beer, and food from Gargiulo’s, but the main event is Saturday’s annual screening of The Warriors, the cult classic flick set in Coney Island that depicts New York City in all its crazy, gritty 70s glory. Word is that this event sells out every year, and becomes a participatory, interactive experience a la Rocky Horror. The screening starts at 10:30pm and tickets must be purchased separately from the festival passes at $10 a pop.
