Love Letter to NY

On the first anniversary of 9/11, BAMcinématek screened Woody Allen’s Manhattan for free all day. Though the twin towers are only featured briefly–once in the soaring, Gerswhin-powered opening montage (as well as the “H” of the title), there was an extraordinary, emotional response to Allen’s love letter to New York, so they are bringing back the day of free screenings to commemorate the 10th anniversary on Sunday at 2, 4:30, 7 and 9:30pm.
