Rapper’s Delight (and other CMJ picks)

By

Brooklyn is where it’s at for this week’s CMJ Festival, and the Duckdown vs. Blacksmith Showcase at the Music Hall of Williamsburg this Saturday night is a prime example of why. Beginning at 9pm, treat yourself to an evening of great hip hop by some of the finest, most socially-conscious musicians in the biz, including Pharaohe Monch, Buckshot, Smif and Wessun, Jean Grae, Kidz in the Hall, and headliner Talib Kweli, the supertalented and visionary rapper who counts Jay-Z and 50 Cent among his biggest fans. Tickets are still available and only $25 if you purchase in advance, but move fast because this show will sell out. For a round-up of other showcases to check out for CMJ, check out Liza Eckert’s picks on the blog.
