Have you heard the news? Saxelby Cheesemongers has a new Brooklyn outpost in Red Hook! Come celebrate this exciting development at tonight’s Beer Washed Cheese Tasting at 61 Local, which will showcase a special selection of four beer-washed cheeses that Saxelby has been developing in partnership with Sixpoint Craft Ales for the past two months. Each cheese will be paired with a generous pour of the brew it was bathed in and served alongside other delicious snacks provided by 61 Local. Tickets are $35 each and althought pre-event tix have sold out, but a few may still be available at the door. If you’re looking for another excuse to head to 61 Local this week, they’ll be celebrating their first birthday (time flies!) this Sunday. Details are still TBD, but we’ve been told to expect free sweets from some of their fave bakeries.
