As much as we all love buildings covered in colorful, modern street art, there’s still something to be said about those old-school murals and advertisements that you can, if you’re lucky, sometimes find on the sides of older buildings. Frank Jump, a photographer and author, has captured some of the most hidden and most iconic fading murals as part of his decades-long project, the Fading Ad Campaign. Tonight, he’ll be stopping by the Brooklyn Historical Society to share some of his favorites located right here in Brooklyn, and explain why we should remember and preserve these important pieces of history.
