Communal Dining

By

We’ve got a soft spot for Windsor Terrace’s Brooklyn Commune–the airy cafe and specialty market stocks a broad range of local items like Stumptown coffee and housemade jams, and serves up delicious veggie-friendly fare like quinoa and portobello salad and a TLT (tempeh, lettuce and tomato) sandwich that even a carnivore could love. They’ve also started to host special events like last summer’s chocolate and wine tasting in partnership with the neighborhood wine shop Juicebox. This week, they’re hosting their first-ever supper club. The meal, which will be served family-style, is a bit more meat-heavy than their normal menu, with mouth-watering combos like shrimp jambalaya with grits and fried tomato with crispy bacon, olive tapenade, and goat cheese among the offerings. Best of all, it costs an entirely reasonable $40 per person, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own wine (we recommend checking out the aforementioned Juicebox, located just down the block).
