Teddy Boy

If you’re as excited for Memorial Day weekend as we are, you’re probably ready to start your summer celebrations, um, now. Get a head start on long weekend fun on Thursday night, when the Tip Sheet’s very own Jay Honstetter will be DJing at Teddy’s (which happens to be be both the oldest bar in Williamsburg and the filming location for 1990’s King of New York, starring Christopher Walken). Jay, who’s also a member of local band Freshkills (playing on Saturday at the Grand Victory), promises Britpop, post-punk, and garage from the likes of Blur, Pulp, Wild Flag, and Modern Lovers. No cover, and the music starts at 9pm, so no excuses for not dropping by—even if you have to roll out of bed and make it to work for those few painful hours before the weekend.
