A Super Street Fair

By

For 35 years, BAM has dedicated the month of May to celebrating African culture through its DanceAfrica festival, a collection of dance performances from the African diaspora, master classes, a film series, and a dance party in the BAMcafe.  One of the perennial highlights of the festival is the Memorial Day weekend DanceAfrica Bazaar, which draws some 300 vendors of African, Caribbean, and African-American food, crafts, and fashion to the streets surrounding BAM. With face-painting and outdoor performances scheduled throughout the day, the bazaar promises fun for everyone. If you want to check out the rest of the 2012 DanceAfrica program, a full lineup is available here.
