Books in general are always a good idea. Books that benefit a good cause? That’s a no-brainer. Greenlight is putting on a special Story Time event starting at 11am with picture book great Peter Brown (creator of several titles, including our personal favorite/social manifesto, You Will Be My Friend!) to benefit First Book Brooklyn this weekend in store. First Book is a 20-year-old organization that has donated almost 100 million free or crazy low-cost books to the communities that need them most. First Book Brooklyn is a younger branch hoping to have the same kind of impact in Brooklyn schools, organizations, and libraries, and on Saturday, Greenlight is donating 20% of all sales of children’s books and toys to First Book Brooklyn! Giveaways, a raffle with great prizes and other surprises will make this Saturday’s Story Time at Greenlight extra sweet.
